Granny Smith Apple Ricotta Toasted Crostinis with Alessi Balsamic Reduction

There is something almost effortless about a crostini done well — and yet that simplicity is exactly the point. The gentle crunch of toasted bread, the cool creaminess spread slowly across its surface, the bright edge of a tart apple, and then that dark, patient drizzle pulling everything into focus. This is the kind of thing you make when you want to offer something beautiful without a great deal of fuss. It asks nothing of you except a little attention and a willingness to let good ingredients speak for themselves.

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette
  • 2 tablespoons Alessi Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 8 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, sliced
  • Alessi Balsamic Reduction

Instructions

  1. Slice baguette into 8 pieces, lay on baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
  2. Let cool. Top each bread slice with 2 Tbsp. ricotta, add apple slice and drizzle with reduction.
