Mozzarella with Prosciutto and Pesto

No Heat, No Hurry, Just Grace

Some of the most honest food asks nothing of the stove. It asks only for good ingredients, a little patience in the arrangement, and the willingness to let each element speak for itself. There is something quietly elegant about this combination — the yielding softness of fresh mozzarella, the delicate drape of prosciutto, the herbal richness that ties it all together. It is the kind of thing you set on a table and watch disappear, slowly at first, then all at once.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces mozzarella balls, about 15
  • 3 ounces prosciutto, sliced thin
  • Alessi Pesto, to taste

Instructions

  1. Arrange mozzarella balls on a platter. Cut prosciutto in half lengthwise and then in half again.
  2. Wrap a slice of prosciutto around each mozzarella ball and secure with a toothpick if desired.
  3. Drizzle pesto on each prosciutto wrapped mozzarella ball and serve immediately.
