Parmesan Orzo

Parmesan Orzo

Simple, Golden, and Quietly Satisfying

There are dishes that ask very little of you and give back more than expected. Parmesan orzo is one of them — a stovetop ritual that moves slowly, almost meditatively, as the broth absorbs and the cheese melts into something soft and cohesive. It belongs to the category of quiet comfort food: no drama, no fuss, just the gentle alchemy of a few humble ingredients finding their way to something genuinely nourishing. The kind of thing you make on a Tuesday and find yourself thinking about again by Thursday.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Alessi Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Alessi Garlic Puree
  • Alessi Sea Salt and Ground Black Pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cups Vigo Orzo
  • 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat add olive oil, onion, and garlic puree and sauté until onions are soft and translucent; season with salt and pepper.
  2. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  3. Add orzo and stir for a minute.
  4. Cover pot and reduce heat to simmer.
  5. Cook 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until broth is absorbed and pasta is tender.
  6. Stir in parmesan and season with salt and pepper.
